My Difficult Choice – Part 2

First of all "THANK YOU!"

I cannot even begin to describe how much all of your comments on my last post meant to me.

If you missed it, you can read PART 1 HERE.

The fact that you are willing to share your stories and offer your support is the most inspiring thing in the world for me and my mission at the Entrepreneuress Academy.

Being a female entrepreneur is challenging in a lot of ways, but the support of the community is AMAZING. Unlike anything I have ever experienced.

Let's jump right in to Part 2 of this story.

After I moved to NYC I began meeting so many amazingly talented and INSPIRING WOMEN. But I was also coming across lots of ladies with big dreams and loads of potential who were having the hardest time getting their ideas off of the ground.

I also met a lot of brilliant women with businesses that were really struggling from a lack of resources and strategies when it came to running their businesses.

I started to help more and more of them put my systems and strategies into place and realized that MY TRUE PASSION is helping female entrepreneurs!

I enjoy helping female entrepreneurs because when I started there was no one to teach me or help me with anything. I had so many questions and could have really used someone to SHOW ME THE WAY and offer support.

I started the Entrepreneuress Academy  so I could teach women what took me YEARS and A LOT of money to learn.

That way they wouldn't have to start with nothing like I did. They could become successful FASTER and with a much EASIER journey.

You see in order to get where I am today I had to:

-Spend thousands of dollars working with the top SEO and advertising firms and specialists.

-Travel all around the country to the top internet marketing and business conferences.

-Fully educated myself by reading hundreds of business books.

-Live through years of experience running my online businesses to apply all of these theories and see how they really work.

But the truth is not everyone has the time, energy and interest in doing all of this. But that doesn't mean that they shouldn't be able to become entrepreneurs!

My goal is to provide all of the information and merchant business resources needed so that more women can become the owners of successful online businesses.

Online business is the future and I want women to be empowered to become the forerunners of it.

Women have always been limited in being able to pursue their careers because of the love and care that we prioritize for our families.

For the first time, online businesses gives us the opportunity to create lives filled with enough freedom to actual DO BOTH. I'm not talking about having kids and dropping them off at daycare each day so that we can go into the office. I'm talking about a NEW WAY OF DOING BUSINESS that allows us to be the wives and mothers that we want to be because we run our businesses on OUR OWN TERMS.

You interested?

I believe that we need to reevaluate the way that entrepreneurs do business.

I don't just want more women starting businesses, I want more women understanding how to create and manage businesses in a way that allows them to live their IDEAL LIFE.

If you do not have the freedom to live your life the way you want you still have a job, even if it's your own business.

So whether it's more time to spend with friends and family, or the freedom and funds to travel the world, I want to teach you what to do so you can go out an do it!

I've been receiving so many wonderful emails lately thanking me for the inspiration, but really it's all of you that inspire me! You are the reason why I work late into the night and am so excited to wake up the next morning and do it all over again!

Would you like to join me in this pursuit?

Comment below if you are ready to be a part of my mission to empower women to live the real lives of their dreams!

I'll be personally reviewing all comments. I can't wait to hear what you have to say!

    Very good read!

I try and tell all my creative friends that you don’t have to have a store to run a business. All you need is determination, willingness to put in long hours and hard work along with being open to learn from the good and the bad.

Your blog is VERY empowering for me.

    Thank you!

    Hi Melanie,

I market B-to-B. Any insights to reach a lot of people – so they feel like they are dealing with “me” – with limited time?

Great posts Melanie. I was really looking forward to reading part two of your story! So since you are so sweet to sit by your computer to wait for our questions I will ask you one. For the second business you started, the home decor items, how did you not get intimidated by all the other well established companies already out there on the net???

    • Melanie Duncan says:

Thanks Meegan. I already had the majority of the infrastructure of the manufacturing side of the business set up from my first company so I didn’t have much to lose. Plus I couldn’t find any mid-level monogram providers, only really high-end or super cheap online sites so I saw a lot of potential in the mid-level market.xx

Your stories are truly inspiring! I love to hear about your journey and am setting out to create my ideal life. I have a 2 year old daughter and struggle with the balancing act. My boutique started online 4 yrs ago and I’ve had a physical store front for 7 months. We’re revamping our site now but I want you to tell me how to increase our web and social media presence to get more sales online than I do in the store. I need your online formula! :-)
